Craft of the Week - Catalog of Love

Again, I LOVE this idea! What a beautiful idea to add meaning to a special day. Too bad I missed our anniversary...it was a week ago! Maybe I will go with it for my hubby's birthday in a few months.

You know what I love most about it? It looks like the cards were typed on a type writer! It looks worn, used and tattered and absolutely beautiful...just like love. I've learned in marriage, that love grows deeper and more meaningful the older it gets. The stains, marks and scars are all reminders of how far we have come together, through both good and bad times. It can be difficult, but so beautiful at the same time! It reminds me of the beautiful sacrifice Christ made for us on the Calvary cross...

I just added two new coffee cozies to my shop. I finally found Insul-Bright at my fabric store and am now making them out of that material. I honestly can't tell the difference between Insul-Bright and regular batting (they seem to work the same to me), BUT I do like knowing the best material is being use. I seriously am addicted to these coffee cozies. They are so fun to make and give away!

Craft of the Week - Simple Sugar Scrub

I know not all of us have the time (nor money!) to take regular trips to the spa. But I do know we probably all dream of it quite often! How about if you bring the spa home by making your own pampering products??

I wasn't able to copy the photo (I guess you have to be a premium member!), but this sugar scrub looks amazing! I actually made a coconut vanilla one for my mothers for Mother's Day and, oh, let me tell you...I wanted to eat that thing right out of the tub! It smelt delicious! I'm guessing you could even substitute sea salt for the sugar if you prefer (might eliminate the temptation to chow down while in the bath!).

The fun thing with this scrub recipe is you can make any scent you like! Try coconut oil and vanilla essential oil. Or how about lavender oil for a heavenly lavender scrub? My newest scent I am playing around with right now is Eucalyptus...it's so fresh smelling! Or maybe an Orange/Ginger smell is the one for you! Grapefruit is another popular choice. My favorite combo is cinnamon, cloves and sweet orange. Not sure if it would go over well in a scrub, but I do love making my homemade cleaner with it!

Well, I finally did it! Welcome to my blog. Here you will find everything that has to do with the creativity in my life. It's just been bursting from my seams...and I am so excited to share it all with you! I have lots of fun ideas in the works. Maybe I will even start a flickr group? We will see! Be prepared to meet some of my favorite crafters, discover some cute craft ideas and maybe I will even throw in some yummy recipes (since I LOVE to cook!)!
